Christmas at the Wynn's

Merry Christmas everyone!  I hope everyone had a very jolly day.  Here at the Wynn's, we had an excellent, very relaxed day.  This was the first Christmas that we spent with just us since having Ella 6 Christmas' ago.

Each of the last 6 years, we have either had family come to us, or we traveled back to Michigan to see friends and family.  This year we decided to vacation a few weeks ago and then stay put for Christmas, keep it nice and quiet.

Sarah worked feverishly all week baking cookies to give to our friends here in Seattle.  I'm not sure how many cookies she ended up making, but it was a lot.  We had a full time bakery going here.  On Christmas Eve, we still had enough cookies left to put out quite the plate for Santa who ate them all of course.  I hear his favorite was the whoopie pie, I can verify the excellency of the whoopie pies.

Santa stopped by with a few things for the kids.  He brought Ella an indoor playhouse for her to play in, and for Max he brought a giant Star Wars AT-AT.  They both loved their gifts, Ella had asked Santa for a puppy, but Mom and Dad had to veto that one from the fat man.  I wish Santa had taken some measurements before assembly, Ella's playhouse is too big to fit through the door to her room, so it has taken up residence in the bonus room, not exactly what we had in mind.

We spent a nice long day opening presents, having a huge breakfast of Cinnabons, sausage, scrambled eggs, and hash browns.  I had to wait in line for 30 minutes just to order the Cinnabons on Christmas Eve, and then go back a few hours later to pick them up.  That place was absolutely packed, I think next year I will take them up on their pre-order program.  I asked the kids what their favorite presents were and they both answered "all of them", so I guess that is a good sign.

Max opened his stuffed Wampa from Star Wars, complete with a detachable arm so it is just like after Luke cut its arm off
Check out these awesome socks we got the whole family from Little Miss Matched.  The whole point is that they do not match, in fact these all came with 3 socks to a "pair".  You just grab any two and throw them on.  Peace out until next Christmas, we are targeting Hawaii for a Christmas vacation next year, but may end up somewhere else, who knows.
